Sonic Youth is one of those bands that have been around for decades and are still pumping out albums that are always different from the last yet have their signature sound. Sonic Youths real draw is their live show, and a Sonic Youth show in NYC is always a treat.
Down south twangness just got amped up for this new band that has a major kick ass show. Cage the Elephant took the stage at the El Rey and with a little help from their guitar tech, Jordan “themotherfuckinman” Powell, got yours truly a ticket to the show for some beers and some rock.
That’s right, review #2 of their live show only this time it was at the Velvet Jones, a place with a real stage, a real bar, and real speakers. AWESOME.
Ironman, lead us to the promise land…
October 1st is a special day every year, both my little brothers were born on that day, 8 years apart. So to celebrate I decided on buying a last minute ticket to the second show out of four shows that Pearl Jam was doing at the Gibson Amphitheater, and I got a great seat.
Yet another show at the Troubadour, and man what a live show it was! The title says is all. Lets get into it.
This was the 5th time I have met up with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and it just keeps getting better. The show was amazing.
In a stroke of luck I somehow got 2 tickets one of the UK’s hottest imports, the ultra super cool Arctic Monkeys. How was the show? I am glad you asked.
9/9/09 is one of the coolest dates ever in the history of dates, and to celebrate I went down to another dope spot in LA, the Troubadour to see HEALTH, a band that hails from this area.
