I had a wet and wild Friday night. It took me 3 hours and 30 minutes to drive to the Natural History Museum in Los Angeles on a rainy 101 and it was worth it to see Brooklyn’s Yeasayers.
Some background on the Yeasayers before I get into the review, I went to see Man Man perform in Santa Barbara and this band called the Yeasayers was opening [...]

Hot Chip – One Life Stand
Hot Chip is a great band, there records have gone from laid back to in your face and everything in between. Their newest album, One Life Stand is being released in a couple of weeks and the question is not if you should pick it up, the question is, is it worth picking up. Yes, if you’re a Hot Chip fan. Confused? [...]

Bad ass tatt
Once again, I start a new series during it’s second season, partly because of my recent dark ages saga and partly so that the show can prove it’s worth before it gets canceled and I get pissed off. This one I started on the recommendation from a friend, and what a recommend it was. Sons of Anarchy, FX’s smash hit, has got me ready to sell [...]

Question. What is better than Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake singing renditions of your favorite Christmas jingles? Absolutely nothing. This album should be the definitive studio of X-Mass 2009.
Coming from a strait up heathen family ever since I can remember Christmas was a time where everyone else got to have fun spinning their dreidels or kissing your best friends wife under the mistletoe. This album encompasses that feeling [...]

Sonic Youth is one of those bands that have been around for decades and are still pumping out albums that are always different from the last yet have their signature sound. Sonic Youths real draw is their live show, and a Sonic Youth show in NYC is always a treat.
Before we get to the main course there were some serious appetizers. 1st up was Cold Cave who was playing yet I [...]

While on turkey break me and my California slice of heaven decided to check out the Ninja, a ninja themed restaurant, and yes I was massively excited.
So you enter the spot, ride an down an elevator and when the doors open you find yourself in Edo Japan circa the 14th century. CAUTION there are ninjas EVERYWHERE and they will scare you any chance they get. The food was not the greatest, [...]

Down south twangness just got amped up for this new band that has a major kick ass show. Cage the Elephant took the stage at the El Rey and with a little help from their guitar tech, Jordan “themotherfuckinman” Powell, got yours truly a ticket to the show for some beers and some rock.
So how were they? Super kick ass sweet thats how. If you heard any [...]

We are in the age of the iPHONE and man I wanted one. The only problem is my credit switching over carriers, I have been on T-Mobile for over 8 years. T-Mobile has been nothing but solid for me, I had Verizon but ended my contract because of very poor customer service. I can now hang my head up high, my phone game just got real.
So everyone has seen those my [...]

So Def Jam is celebrating their 25th anniversary and decided to throw a massive party in Brooklyn and the shindig was hosted by Tracy Morgan, awesome. If you grew up when Hip Hop was young, especially in the tri state area Def Jam directly affected everything about you, your threads, your kicks, your dome piece, your slang, and your general swagger. If you don’t understand what I am saying then this [...]
