The things I do for a meaty review. Even though I am not the best Fifa guy on the block I like to play, A LOT. So I stood in line with a bunch of fucking geeks, apparently they were there to pick up another 1^st person shooter clone that comes out every week. I was in line hell, between 2 utterly dorkified groups of annoyance, ahead of me were 2 white dudes and there overweight Samoan Asian chick that likes to play video games(and eats twinkie’s) and behind me were 2 other white dudes who were in college talking shit like they know what’s up cause they are far superior to everyone else cause they are not in college. ARG!!!!! Just shut the fuck up and wait for the no pussy getting staff to let you in at midnight to pick up your fucking game. You know what true gamers do in line? PLAY FUCKING VIDEO GAMES, PSP, DSi, FUCK play bubble break on your phone, anything but talking your nonsense. Oh wait this is Fifa review…

Let me get this fact out EARLY, fellow redmeat reviewer Mr. Redbone is much better than Fifa than I am, but the last game we played I won so technically I reign supreme! Plus he does not own a PS3 and can’t play online, goals speak louder than words.

Biggest difference between this Fifa and the last one, I CAN SCORE! I don’t know what it was about the 2009 edition but in the 2010 edition I can and it feels oh so good. Its an EA sports game, they are always superior to other companies sports video games, and Fifa does not disappoint. The graphics are insanely beautiful, there is hardly any loading time, shooting, passing scoring are smooth and intuitive and the action will keep you up till the early AM hours.

The online play is pretty nice with little to no lag on the PSN. Yes I own the superior PS3 and don’t mess with that 360 garbage, yet.

I have had the game for only 24 hours so I haven’t dived deep into every aspect of FIFA. There are awesome video tutorials on new features, basic strategies, etc. on the game which come in handy when not wanting to read. The most impressive is the Virtual Pro mode where you can create then grow a character in FIFA 2010 to become a superstar in the world of football.

There is another mode called “Live”. In this mode you pick a club team and it loads the season, in real time, and you can play the actual matches (opponents of that club team) as they happen in real time. Confused? Let’s say you pick Chelsea today. It will load Chelsea’s current schedule and roster, and now you are officially locked in whatever this football club is doing. Let’s say they play Arsenal tomorrow, and that Arsenal wins 3-4. You can play that same matchup in FIFA 2010 and compare your results to the real results of the matchup! Fucking TITS right!!!!

In fact that might be the only complaint in this game. There is too much stuff to do it’s a bit overwhelming. One doesn’t know where to start, and it seems like a daunting task to do everything in this game. It also would have been nice to have a mini camp mode like in the Madden game, but that’s Madden. But my number 1 issue no PAKISTAN!!!! Come on EA, Pakistani’s love soccer even though national teams like Iraq beat us up in World Cup qualifiers. IRAQ is in the game, I think.

I am currently playing in a tournament for some Portugal Club Team, and I can’t stop playing. The game is like crack only I had to pay of it once. EA brought both the thunder and the lightning, pick up this game if you like sports games and especially if you like soccer. Oh and if someone does find Pakistan in Fifa 2010, let a dude know!

It’s the Time of the Season for MADDEN 2010

I moved to California 5 years ago, and certain things I just didn’t have time for, Madden was one of those things. Madden had morphed from a fun game into a game I couldn’t play anymore, it was straight up too hard. Lucky my little brother from NJ who is a Madden addict is out here for the summer, and he and his follow Madden freaks lined up at midnight to pick this leviathan of a game.

He got home post midnight, quit Marvel vs. Capcom 2 that I had been playing for about 7 hours, popped it in and wholly CRAP this game is freaking pretty. EA is always on point with their real life graphics and Madden does not disappoint in that department. Obviously I picked the NY Giants, and my little bro picked the Packers of Green Bay, both teams looked massively realistic and moved and felt realistic.

Game play is not as hard as I remembered. After a couple of snaps I got back into the groove of Madden, and guess what, it was fun. It wasn’t as hard as the previous installments, the characters were responsive which made for a very close game. Tried some of the mini camp games, nice spin on how to unlock trophies.

Defense and offence seemed to be more balanced. The last 2 Maddens it was real hard to run, it looks like EA the corrected that situation. I don’t like how the default sprint button is R2, but you can just adjust the controller setting to whatever you want.

All in all Madden will always be the Juggernaut of sports games, and is a must pick up for anyone who loves football.
