Ok I am gonna preface this article by explain that even though Quentin Tarantino’s flicks are fun to watch, I am not a fan of this dudes work. With that said go see this movie, its fucking awesome if you like war flicks, spy movies, foreign films, violence, sub titles, graphic violence,  blood, scalping, explosions,  films of the 1940’s and did I mention violence. This review contains spoilers sort of so stop reading and go see this movie, then come back read the rest and comment.

American Jews scalping Nazi’s is always a good thing. The Holocaust was real no matter what Arab dictator says, and Mr. Tarantino spins it into a glorious film filled with espionage, false history and an explanation of the propaganda machine which lead to the Nazi rise in power. 1st off this film is not historically accurate, at ALL, so please all WWII fanatics take a back seat. You are introduced to the main Nazi villain early in the film. Needless to say him and Brad Pitt steal this movie and without these 2 actors this movie would suck Nazi Balls. You can’t help but hate this dude, his character is an extremely smooth fascist that is pure evil. In the 1st scene they break down the propaganda that Nazi Germany was fed, relating Jews to rats. In his argument he explains that people don’t know why they hate rats, they just do. People don’t hate squirrels and they are just like a rat aren’t they? Same goes for the Jew, much like the rat people (Germans) don’t know why they hate the Jew, but they must be eliminated. It is much more engaging on screen.

Brad Pitt is the man in this movie. Cool accent, charm, and believability are just some things he brings to Inglorious Bastards. He plays an American with a little bit of Apache mixed in his blood, and his reputation as well as his troop of bastards is spread through occupied France like a ghost tale. Brad Pitt recruits only Jews(American mostly) to add to passionate violence that will befall the Nazi’s they encounter him and his men, and trust me there is some passionate violence to be given out.

Mike Myers makes a quick cameo, and Eli Roth(director of Hostel)  plays the “Bear Jew”, watch the move cause its pretty awesome. All in all this movie is not what it seems. It talks about films of the 40’s, particularly the influence that film has on the masses. There are some taboo’s that are discussed and it is not the action packed adventure ride you are used to in a normal Tarantino movie. A couple of scenes dragged on for this 2+ hour movie. Style, fun, comedy, ultra violence are all signatures that Quentin Tarantino signs, say Yes Yes Yes to Inglorious Bastards.

I thought this film was so well done!
I haven’t seen the original – but would like to,
to see the differences in Tarantino’s direction…

One thing that I really loved:
The characters started off speaking in “their” language,
and then would ask permission to continue on in English!
    Brilliant!
