Overpopulated Vampires DayBreakers Review
If the recent popularity of vampires crossing over to the main stream in pop culture has created a knot in your stomach Daybreakers is the cure.
Its pretty simple. Much like Zombies all vampires must DIE. Truly a simple rule that the general population should get right? Luckily this movie gets it sort of. Daybreakers goes old school when it comes to vampire clichés; These vamps don’t sparkle in the sun, they burst into flames. Unlike some backwater bloodsuckers on premium cable channels they drink deluded blood because they are in charge, not the humans. Confused? Brief intro.
This movie takes place where after a single bit from a bat turns the population to the immortal undead that feed off an almost extinct human population. The world has embraced this lifestyle but with the humans becoming more and more scarce a blood substitute is needed. Enter Ethan Hawke, a vampire blood scientist that is working on this blood substitute. Dr Grant from Jurassic park is a bad ass vampire corporate executive and William Dafoe is an ex-Vampire now human again turned freedom fighter.
The flick is pretty predictable. The vampires without blood are literally de-evolving and becoming a problem, blah, blah, BLAH.
This movie impress on the gore factor, it comes quick and unexpected and remains until the last frame. This movie is truly disgusting, at one point there was a slow motion bloody abdomen flying in the back ground with limbs and other tattered body parts.
Do I recommend this movie, absolutely. It is a hard R and is a fun time.
