Paranormal Activity — Lacks Activity

I’m going to let you in on a little secret, I stopped being afraid of ghosts soon after hitting puberty. I’m 29 now, so that was probably like 5 years ago. This movie is all about the build up and suspense, the spookiness that a ghost or demon brings. Well, I’m sorry but I don’t believe in ghosts. I really wish they did exist because I think they’d be really cool to see, but they don’t and people who believe in ghosts need to grow up. Having gotten that off my chest. Paranormal Activity sucked.

This young couple in their mid 20′s are investigating some paranormal activity occurring in their home. The house is not haunted, the chick is, don’t worry… That’s not a spoiler. So they video tape themselves being a boring couple that never have sex. They catch some stupid things on camera and the entire time I’m waiting for a good scare. They could have gotten me really good many times because the movie is very quiet and calm, especially when I’m voyeuristic and watching them sleep. I was expecting it to be like one of those scary maze videos on youtube. So I kept my guard up the entire time, but only to find out that was pointless.

I didn’t care about the characters or the plot, this movie was stupid. It gets 1 steak, and that’s simply because the movie is suspenseful but it doesn’t deliver.
