T-Mobile MyTouch Review
We are in the age of the iPHONE and man I wanted one. The only problem is my credit switching over carriers, I have been on T-Mobile for over 8 years. T-Mobile has been nothing but solid for me, I had Verizon but ended my contract because of very poor customer service. I can now hang my head up high, my phone game just got real.
So everyone has seen those my touch commercials on TV right? the big question is, is it an phone killer, the answer is a no. The iPhone is a Juggernaut. The momentum is too far gone, the apps and navigation is great on the iPhone. The MyTouch can hang with the iPhone though and this is how.
The MyTouch is smaller, lighter and can run multiple items. Plus it’s all about the apps. The iPhones apps are super cool, but so are the android based open source apps for the MyTouch. Most of the apps are free which is a plus for the MyTouch. The camera is pretty shitty but that was expected.
With that said, I LOVE MY NEW PHONE. My life is finally getting organized and the apps that I have used to organize my life are simple to use and work seamlessly with other apps that share and distribute vital information on a timely manner. It does everything I want. Its all about customizing the MyTouch, and that is what I have done. Instead of buying a case for my MyTouch I just bought clear screen to go on the touchscreen and a sweet customized back for my phone form a company called SkinIt. You have seen correctly, that is a Todd McFarlane cover where Wolverine and the Hulk are going head to head. All I had to do is find an image, , upload it to their server, and order the damn thing. I have customized ringtones including the Victory (fanfare) music from Final Fantasy and a slew of Super Mario bros and Transformer sound effects for notification. Twitter has never been so easy and I can even update this blog! Infact you can literally customized LED lights for notification and status’ on your phone!
Must have apps that I have are Advance Task Killer, Astrid, Battery Widget, Bubble(level app), Camera Zoom FX, Flashlight, AK Notebook, PF Voicemail, a Metal Detector, Ringdroid, Twidroid, and PS3 Friends Live(personal FAVORITE and must have for any gamer). I don’t listen to music on my MyTouch cause I have an iPod for that and don’t play games on my phone. It’s all good though, I love browsing the net on this phone.
I don’t think that the google maps run as well as it should. The iPhone has instant GPS and the MyTouch doesn’t, WTF? IT’S A DAMN GOOGLE PHONE! I still give suburb directions though. Also it does run slow at times, like a computer would if you were running multiple programs. Also the touchscreen is heat active not touch active, and since I have cold as ice fingers it doesn’t help my case.
The price point is expensive but worth it, at least in my opinion.
There is still a lot of things on this phone to discover, but I just don’t have the time. If you have anything worth mentioning about using the MyTouch leave it in the comment section.
