Super white and always right, find this guy at your local Blockbuster, punching the nerds behind the counter.

trueblood cmcl HBO has done it again gang. The absolute cure for the summer bore is definitely HBO’s awesome horror/drama/romantic comedy True Blood. Currently six episodes deep into the second season, it leaves viewers thirsty for the next drop each Sunday. For those still trapped in the dark (or light in this case) the premise is that vampires have “come out of the coffin” and a new synthetic blood has been invented by the Japanese (of course) so they can stop feeding on humans and start getting some respect. It takes place in the little town of Bon Temps, Louisiana, a backwoods Cajun type nook we haven’t seen the likes of since Hard Target or Waterboy. Yes, I did say Hard Target. It’s based off a series of books written by Charlaine Harris called The Southern Vampire Mysteries, but from what I hear, it’s a loose interpretation.

The story focuses on the lives of Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress tormented by the constant weight of being able to hear everyones thoughts (played by the oddly attractive Anna Panquin) and her love interest Bill Compton, a 173 year old vampire who has decided to now live the new age non-killing vampire life (awesomely acted by Stephen Moyer.) And of course a rag tag group of very talented “nobodys.” There are so many great characters to get behind, hate, and yell things like “WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING” at. This show has a little something for everyone, mixing romance, horror, and comedy to perfection. Its the first show that both my girlfriend and I can REALLY both enjoy.  Everything from vampires, to shape-shifters, to bible thumpin Jesus freaks, to crazy Greek orgies are united for a blissful hour of entertainment. Season 1 definitely has more of a sexual element, I think to get the audience hooked for the upcoming crazy ass storyline of season 2. Once again, I will not give shit away here, that’s not what our site is meant to do, only to encourage you to watch it or pass it by. This is DEFINITELY a watcher. Especially since the summer has so little to offer in the TV department. Absolutely my favorite thing to look forward to and truly a reason to B positive. (hahah get it?) Any thoughts after this trailer Shogun?

Whiteout.

shogun00 takeover….

I agree with you 100% If your not up on True Blood you better, FAST. Season 2 has done nothing but impress me. All the characters are like people you would meet in real life, not good, not bad, just people. on the surface they seem to lead ordinary lives, but on further inspection all the characters are super deep. HBO hit it out of the park with this series. Massively violent, great writing, and funny. Unlike the Soprano’s I have yet to see an “all right” episode, and I can’t stress this point enough. Other series on cable give you “set up” episodes to keep the audience hooked. These “set up” episode’s are usually informative but boring with not a lot going on. EVERY True Blood episode is complete, the story is so damn deep and there are multiple storylines that will eventually come together, end, or twist into something new. And “sexy” is a great tag for this series, the Vamp and Vamp bangers make sense if they were to “come out of the coffin” in real life. The only thing that sucks about True Blood is that I have to wait another fucking week to see a new episode!!!!!

I LOVE TRUE BLOOD! JPow isn’t a huge fan though — he’d prefer “city vampires” tearing some shit up. I must say I think Season 1 was foreplay in comparison to Season 2 – or as I refer to it, the “Sookie (and apparently everyone else in Bon Temps) gets laid” season… I agree with you both on the character development, each one is awesomely crafted… there isn’t an actor I don’t like, a character – yes, an actor, no. And now I must say : Lafayette is THE SHIT.

True Blood is a great show – I look forward to watching every week.
